My Heart

Family means the most to me. These pictures reflect a deep part of my heart.

My siblings and I stood at the entrance of the first school my father ever attended in Mandeville, Jamaica. A portion of the blooming bush in the distance took root in my mother's garden in Kingston, courtesy of my brother's valiant effort to brave the untamed grass and weeds for her.

My husband and daughter (3 at the time) walked ahead of me on a trail at Eaton Canyon in Los Angeles, where we live.

I enjoy observing and thinking about the people I love. I do the same for strangers - think about what they carry. Do they feel loved - by me, by God, by others?

I like that the sign says, "Slow!" That's the way I like to live life. I need space and time to mull over things, pray, wander, decide, write, forgive.

Thanks to my love who has been God's grace to me, I've gotten better at the last. Not all things are better with time.
