For Your Journey
To Build Faith
Here are a few Scriptures and prayers that you can keep handy to pray for certain situations or needs. For example, for your health, or for the health of someone you know. I encourage you to add to what I’ve shared any other passages that communicate the heart and will of God for your life.
30-Day Affirmations
There was a time in my life when I hated myself. As a teenager, I would mumble hateful things like, You will never amount to anything. You’re ugly. Stupid. If you asked me to make a list of things I didn’t like about myself, it was pages long while I struggled to come up with something good. During that time, the Lord used Psalm 139 to help me to understand that he see me fully and loves me still. Coming into adulthood, it helped tremendously although I still struggled.
I had spent so much time self-sabotaging that patterns of thinking had been set. No matter how much I achieved, no matter how much I grew, no matter how much affirmation from others I received, it was never enough for me to be at peace with myself. I had already stopped saying certain things about myself—for the most part, my negative confessions had stopped—but my thought life was a daily fight. I didn't want to live that way anymore. So, in October in 2020 until March of 2021, I began to prayerfully write down the things I wanted to be healed from; and then I wrote down my “Instead.” This is what these these 30-Day Affirmations are—my Instead. I went into a time of prayer by myself and with others, and taped these affirmations to my mirror.
I have never been the same since. The Lord has and is still answering my prayers. Every day, I grow into that change. My prayer and hope is that this little tool will be a part of your testimony, too. Click on the button below to download it.
